S.I.M.T.R. Conference Centre was built in February 1995 by Solihull Independent Hospital Charity, for the benefit of the local community. The Centre provides a peaceful environment for the purposes of teaching, training and Research. In ten years the Centre has become extremely successful and provides conference facilities for companies all over the United Kingdom.
The Charity provides funds and is managed by a Board of Trustees, whose careers can be followed below:
Wife, mother of three children and grandmother of nine children. Former Headteacher of St Alphege C.E. Infant School over a period of 25 years. Previous charity work has included work with a former local Children's Society home for the multi-handicapped children and Young Communicant Leader at a local church. Presently Chair of Governors at a local C.E. School and Chair of the Voluntary Management Committee for the Pre-School Playgroup and After School Care Facilities. A member of the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull Education sub-committee representing the Diocese of Birmingham. Following the publication of a book "Tried and Tested Assemblies" she is currently working on a second book of Collective Worship for Schools.
Educated at King Edwards School Birmingham and at the Birmingham School of Architecture, qualifying in 1958. After National Service, and working in professional offices, I founded my own practice in 1972. Acting for Solihull Independent Charity, I was pleased to be responsible for the design of the new S.I.M.T.R. building in 1994.
Educated at St. Martins School, Solihull. Three daughters and two grandchildren. Since the death of her husband in 1985 Jane has managed the family Property Investment Company. A continuing member on the Committee for the Solihull branch of the N.S.P.C.C. for 25 years.
Retired Chartered Quantity Surveyor. Partner for 37 years in national firm of chartered quantity surveyors being Senior Partner for 26 years. Served on several committees of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and of the Health Ministry. A continuing member of the Rotary Club for 46 years.

Honorary Senior Lecturer at Birmingham University 1976 ~ 1995.
A pioneering Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in teaching. Always at the forefront of new orthopaedic techniques, he designed and developed a new concept in Knee Joint Replacement, "The Rotaglide Knee Prosthesis".

A Birmingham University Graduate (1961 ~ 1967).
A family doctor with Drs Bernays and Whitehouse (est. 1883) in Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands, for 30 years. Chairman of Solihull Independent Hospital Charity since 1987. A member of Monkspath Rotary Club and Paul Harris Fellow. Previously elected to the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame, Fort Lauderdale. Patron of Solihull Sports Club for the Disabled. Medical Officer to the Channel Swimming Association for 20 years. Honorary Citizen of the Aegean.
